PIOX S Concentration / Density Analyzers
The process analyzer PIOX S determines process parameters s uch as the concentration or the density of liquids using ultrasound. The measurement can be realized with a wetted sensor or with clamp-on transducers.
Clamp-on transducers are mounted onto the pipe instead of inserted into it. They are not in direct contact with the medium, are thus not submitted to wear and tear and therefore ideal for the measurement of chemically aggressive, corrosive or ultra pure media. With the clamp-on technology, the retrofitting on existing installations is very easy and can be made without interruption of the process.
The standard transducers have IP65 degree of protection. Various explosion-protected transducers are available.
The wetted sensor was especially engineered for concentration measurement in mixing containers and batch reactors. It allows for a measurement with high precision.
Since the sensor is calibrated at the works, no work point or zero point is necessary, the measurement can be started directly after the installation.
All hygiene requirements of the food industry are fulfilled. Special models for especially aggressive media are available.
A PIOX S measuring system is composed of a transmitter and of a wetter sensor or a pair of clamp-on transducers.
The sound velocity of the liquid is the quantity primarily measured by the instrument. The transmitter calculates the quantities needed for process control (concentration, density, solid content, turnover degree, etc.), taking into account the temperature of the medium. These quantities are displayed and can be picked up at the process outputs.
The electronics incorporate powerful dual-µP-technology and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and delivers stable and reliable results even under difficult measurement conditions. The short reaction time allowed by the measuring principle makes it possible to monitor rapidly changing processes.
PIOX S can be used to monitor complex processes. Depending on the transmitter type up to 4 transducer pairs and/or sensors can be connected. The simultaneous measurement of concentration and flow is possible. Additional measured quantities such as the conductance, the pressure or the density can be input and used for process control. Up to four configurable inputs are available for this.
The operation of PIOX TS is exceptionally easy owing to the comprehensible and clearly structured user dialogue.
