The unique All-Rubber Check Valves are designed to avoid the maintenance problems associated with the flap gates. MeasurIT Technologies offer the Tideflex Check Valves - truly a ‘Backflow Prevention Device‘ in every meaning of this phrase.

Valve’s all-rubber body was built to eliminate any potential of failure or need for maintenance. Since rubber products have a memory for its vulcanized curved duckbill shape, the Tideflex Check Valves require no mechanical parts, no hinges, pins, gates or seals. No mechanical parts means no mechanical maintenance.

The Tideflex Check Valves do not corrode, warp or freeze. They handle large obstructions without jamming, and there is no flap, gate or door to hang open or jam shut. Due to their nature, the Tideflex Valves collapse around any debris and seal off the backflow.

Coastal Discharge - ROCKY BEACH
Rocky areas cause problems for a metal flap valves because of the stones being lodged in the valve. The harsh weather and salt water quickly rust and corrode moving metal parts, rendering the flap valve inoperable.
The unique ‘duckbill‘ design of the Tideflex Check Valves will continue to operate even with build up of rocks and sand.

Coastal Discharge - SANDY BEACH
The beach presents many problems, not the least of which is sand that will infiltrate and eventually clog the pipe. A check valve is needed to stop the sand, but all flap-style valves will simply be held shut buried in sand.
Being made entirely of rubber, the highly elastic nature of the Tideflex Valve allows the flow of a small amount of water even when completely buried in sand. Because the open area is small, the jet velocity is high, and this high jet velocity flushes away the sand and other debris. The Tideflex Valve ultimately clears itself from the grip of the sand. All this time the valve is still functional in preventing backflow.

Marinas
Marinas and discharge lines can peacefully coexist because the all-rubber construction of the Tideflex Valves is quiet and safer to boat hulls than a rigid metal valve and resistant to spills such as oil and fuel.

Odor Control
Offending odors from sewer systems can be prevented from escaping with lightweight Tideflex Check Valves while water or wastewater is still allowed to discharge when needed.

Forward Flow

The Tideflex Check Valves avoid problems associated with coastal discharge by being able to close on entrapped debris and using the flowing water to move debris away from the valve. The Tideflex Valves are constructed entirely of rubber, making them virtually immune to rust, corrosion and weathering.

Early warning of leaks and spills can prevent contamination and protect the environment and water treatment plant from permanent damage.

The OilSpy System has specially been designed for:
• floating hydrocarbons
• chloride solvents
in surface and ground water.

The spill has to be only 0.1 mm thick to be detected.
