Since rubber products have a memory for its vulcanized curved duckbill shape, the Tideflex Check Valves require no mechanical parts, no hinges, pins, gates or seals. The Tideflex Check Valves do not corrode, warp or freeze. They handle large obstructions without jamming, and there is no flap, gate or door to hang open or jam shut. Due to their nature, the Tideflex Valves collapse around any debris and seal off the backflow.

Coastal Discharge - SANDY BEACH
The beach presents many problems, not the least of which is sand that will infiltrate and eventually clog the pipe. A check valve is needed to stop the sand, but all flap-style valves will simply be held shut buried in sand.
Being made entirely of rubber, the highly elastic nature of the Tideflex Valve allows the flow of a small amount of water even when completely buried in sand. Because the open area is small, the jet velocity is high, and this high jet velocity flushes away the sand and other debris. The Tideflex Valve ultimately clears itself from the grip of the sand. All this time the valve is still functional in preventing backflow.

Marinas
