AIR-OPERATED Pinch Valves

Actuation of these valves, the pinching action, is accomplished by air or hydraulic pressure placed on the sleeve. Modulating the air pressure within the annular space between the body and the sleeve can open, throttle or close the valve.The valve body acts as a built-in actuator, eliminating costly pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuators. 


Type A Valve - Pneumatic / Hydraulic

Introduced and patented by Red Valve, the air -actuated Type A Pinch Valve offers a unique, cost-effective solution to flow control problems. The secret is in the rubber sleeve - the valve’s only wetted part. The sleeve’s flexibility allows the valve to close “drop tight” around entrapped solids, eliminating hang ups damaging the valve itself. Sealing area is equal to 95% of the valve’s length. Their abrasion resistance is unmatched. When the valve is open, it is like a straight piece of pipe in the line.

Ideal valves for shut off or control applications that involve abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders, or granular substances, these valves are used on remote locations or harsh environments since there are no external links, levers, pistons, or rotating parts to cause downtime.

Also available are the Type A Double Wall Sleeve Valve for highly abrasive applications, and the Type A Cone valve specifically designed for throttling control applications.


Type A-PRV - Pressure Relief Valve

Type A-PRV Pressure Reducing Valve protects pumps & motors from damage.

It consists of a pinch valve in combination with a pressure gauge.

The pinch valve is installed in a bypass line of a pump. If the pump becomes blocked, the increased pressure forces the valve to open which provides pressure relief, allowing the sewage to bypass the pump until the blockage is cleared. The valve then resets itself to the closed position. 


Series 2600 Miniflex Valve - Pneumatic

Manufactured on the same design principles as the Type A valve (above), Series 2600 Miniflex valves are designed with threaded end connections, enabling use on small lines (1/8”-2”).

The Miniflex valves are the simplest and least expensive control valves available to industry today. They have only four parts and require little or no maintenance. The 2600 is also an excellent choice for chemical feeding, dry powder, bagging and plastic moulding applications with controlling acids, slurries, reagents or catalysts.


Type A Megaflex Valve

The Type A Megaflex is the most economical large diameter automatic valve available (sizes 20” to 84”). As with every Red Valve Pinch Valve, the elastomer sleeve is the only wearing part, drastically reducing maintenance costs. 

The Megaflex Valve’s full-ported actuation is accomplished by air or hydraulic pressure. The steel body acts as a built-in actuator, eliminating costly pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic components. 

These valves are often used as effluent discharge valves controlling raw sewage, storm overflow, flow equalization, tailings in mining operations, and bulk material handling.


Series 4700 Valve

The Series 4700 Spun Aluminium Pinch Valve is designed for low pressure service, in control or on/off applications. It is similar to the Type A, but the body is constructed entirely of spun aluminium for weight savings and easy installation. The unique design makes them the most cost effective, maintenance-free automatic valves available. The key to this valve is in the flexible reinforced rubber sleeve - the valve’s only wetted part.

The sleeve’s flexibility allows the valve to close “drop tight” around entrapped solids, eliminating “hang ups” without ever damaging the valve itself. Sealing area is equal to 95% of the valve’s length. These valves are used in remote locations or harsh environments since there are no external links, levers, pistons, or rotating parts to cause downtime, and can even be buried underground.


Type R Valve

Red Valve’s all new Type R all-elastomer pinch valve is an ideal valve for water, chemical, solids, and slurry applications.  The valve is easily installed between two pieces of pipe with hose clamps.  The unique one-piece design of the Type R Pinch Valve eliminates the need for actuators, making this the most affordable, maintenance-free automatic valve available to industry.

The Type R has all the advantages of a Pinch Valve: no packing gland or seat crevices; this full port valve eliminates bridging or slurry dewatering blockage associated with metal seated valves.  Each time the valve flexes it self-cleans.  The lightweight design of the Type R Pinch Valve makes pipe supports unnecessary.

The Type R is ideal for use with pulse type control systems and is an excellent valve to have in stock for an instant valve repair or to isolate a pipeline.


Series 26F Sanitary Pinch Valve

The 26F Sanitary Valve’s unique one-piece sleeve design, with Tri-Clover Tri-Clamps®, incorporates an integral O-ring seal moulded onto the sleeve ends. The design makes this sanitary valve a straight through port design, eliminating crevices and dead spots, in order to reduce the possibility of bacteria. The key to this valve is in the flexible food grade rubber sleeve—the valve’s only wetted part.

The valve self-cleans each time it is actuated. With the 26F Sanitary Valve there are no seats or packing to replace, or dead spots to collect food particles. When the valve is open, it is like a straight piece of pipe in the line, a significant advantage over weir style diaphragm valves.
